Foundations of Phlebotomy II
(Skills & Simulation)

A hands-on course focused on venipuncture theory, specimen handling, and clinical simulations. Ideal for students ready to develop technical skills or advance toward healthcare careers.

An introductory healthcare course exploring the role of a phlebotomy technician. It focuses on safety, professionalism, medical basics, and patient care principles.Designed for students exploring healthcare or building a strong foundation.

Senior Bridge Program
(Certification & Career Prep)

An advanced program preparing students for national phlebotomy certification exams and workforce readiness through exam prep, skills validation, and professional development.

Foundations of Phlebotomy I
(Exploration & Foundations)

Phlebotomy I — Exploration & Foundations

Focus:
Foundational instruction in medical terminology, anatomy, infection control, bloodborne pathogens, patient communication, specimen handling theory, order of draw theory, and healthcare professionalism.

Outcome:
Students develop a strong understanding of phlebotomy principles and healthcare safety standards and professional expectations with clinical environments.

Phlebotomy II — Applied Phlebotomy Theory & Simulation

Focus:
Expanded phlebotomy theory and application, including deeper study of venipuncture procedures, equipment uses, vein selection, order of draw, specimen handling, complications, quality assurance, and documentation — combined with simulation-based practice.

Includes:

  • Foundational theory for new or transferring students

  • Advanced venipuncture theory and step-by-step processes

  • Equipment selection and troubleshooting

  • Patient-centered care and anxiety management

  • Error prevention and quality control

  • Simulation-based skills practice

Outcome:
Students connect theory to practice and develop clinical reasoning and procedural confidence.

Students typically complete Phlebotomy I before entering Phlebotomy II. Students with prior coursework or experience may be eligible to enter Phlebotomy II directly with approval or placement.


Senior Bridge Program

Focus:
A comprehensive, accelerated phlebotomy program designed for graduating seniors. This program includes both foundational and advanced theory, clinical simulation, and certification preparation.

Students will cover:

  • Medical terminology and anatomy review

  • Infection control, OSHA, and bloodborne pathogens

  • Phlebotomy equipment and procedures

  • Venipuncture theory and step-by-step processes

  • Specimen handling and order of draw

  • Complications, patient care, and professionalism

  • Certification exam preparation and practice testing

Outcome:
Students complete the program with a full understanding of phlebotomy theory and skills and are prepared to sit for the national phlebotomy certification exam after graduation.

The Senior Bridge Program is designed for both students who have completed Phlebotomy I and II and for seniors who are entering phlebotomy for the first time and need a complete, accelerated pathway.

Program Structure and Schedule

Phlebotomy I:

Format: On-site elective or enrichment program
Duration: 6 weeks
Sessions: 2 per week
Session Length: 90 minutes
Delivery: Delivered on-site for schools, homeschool groups, and learning communities. Scheduled by arrangement.

Phlebotomy II:

Format: On-site elective or enrichment program
Duration: 6 weeks
Sessions: 2 per week
Session Length: 90 minutes
Delivery: Delivered on-site for schools, homeschool groups, and learning communities. Scheduled by arrangement. Placement or Phlebotomy I recommended.

Senior Bridge:

Format: In-person cohort program
Duration: 12 weeks
Schedule: 2 days per week
Session Length: 3 hours Total Instructional Time: 72 hours
Location: In-person at our training site
